Passion project turned professional

Golden Mountain has been an ongoing passion project of mine for many years now. It all started when I was living abroad and looking for a chalk bag with a British flag on it to remind me of home - I couldn't find one so my friend handed me an old jacket and said 'here make one out of this' – so I did. It was that which prompted me to start an Etsy shop selling them which has since turned into goods inspired by the outdoors and our vanlife travels.

A big part of the passion project becoming professional was focussing on a niche, creating a cohesive brand identity, souring high quality products / packaging and using a professional photographer to capture it all.

Finding suppliers can be an absolute mine field but using the right ones can quickly help you level up and feel confident about your brand. After discovering Stickermule several years ago, I’ve become their no.1 fan. I’ve never had a bad order and customers continually comment on how good the quality is which has helped build trust with future shoppers and made it so easy for me to turn a design into a product with zero hassle. And as for the product images, that’s all Emma Ratcliffe Photography what a relief it is to no longer be ‘trying’ to take my own product photos! She’s always so fun to work with and really does bring your business to life through the lens whether you are a product or service based business. I’m big into streamlining processes and that’s what these two businesses do so well - i’d even go as far to say they are part of my secret sauce!
